Association of Information Officers of Metro Manila (AIMM)


DENR-NCR Regional Public Affairs Office (RPAO) OIC Head Christopher C. Villarin was elected as Board Member of the Association of Information Officers of Metro Manila (AIMM) on Thursday, September 1, 2016 during a forum/meeting held at Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros, Manila.


Established in 1997 by the Philippine Information Agency-National Capital Region (PIA-NCR), AIMM was first conceived as a means to bring the various programs and projects of the government closer to the people through effective dissemination of relevant information.  AIMM also serves as a venue for information officers to discuss issues requiring inter-agency response and to facilitate planning and implementation of information, education and communication campaigns.


The other newly-elected officers of AIMM are San Juan City Chief Information Officer Ms. Grace Cortes (President); MMDA Public Concerns and Digital Media Head Ms. Goddes Hope Oliveros-Libiran (VP for External Affairs); Muntinlupa Chief PIO Ms. Tez Navarro (VP for Internal Affairs); PCUP Media Officer Grace E. De Polonia (Secretary); PIA-NCR Information Officer Ms. Susan de Leon (Treasurer); Caloocan City Chief PIO Mr. Nolan Sison (Auditor); and Manila City Chief PIO Mr. Diego Cagahastian (PRO).  Quezon City Public Assistance and Information Services Office Chief, Mr. Ares Gutierrez was elected as Chairman of the Board.  The other elected board members are Mr. Alvin Fidelson, Information Officer, PHLPost; Ms. Diana Sabado, Information Officer, MTRCB; and Parañaque City Chief PIO, Mr. Mario Jimenez.

In accordance with Republic Act No. 7192 otherwise known as the “Act Promoting the Integration of Women Full and Equal Partners of Men in Development and Nation Building” the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-National Capital Region (DENR-NCR), held a two-day seminar on Gender Sensitivity and Gender Mainstreaming at the 4th floor conference room. Leading the seminar is Mrs. Loren A. Umali (left), a GAD Specialist. (Inset) Employees of the seminar gamely participated in the activities.
